Sonic, Knuckles and Tails reunite to face a powerful new adversary, Shadow, a mysterious villain with powers unlike anything they’ve faced before. With their abilities obsolete, Team Sonic must seek out an unlikely alliance. The makers of the previous films have cited the solo game Sonikku adobenchâ 2 (2001) and Shadow the Hedgehog (2005) as inspirations. The film also draws on narrative elements from the Saturday morning animated television series Sonic the Hedgehog (1993).
