He’s smart
He’s lovable. He’s Dexter Morgan, America’s favorite serial killer, who spends his days solving crimes and his nights committing them. During season 8, Angel Batista was not always played by David Zayas.
His son David Zayas Jr
fills in for his father in a few scenes, as the two look remarkably alike. Visible throughout the first season, Dexter has a large scar on his left side. Later in season 2, the scar moved to his right side, leaving his left side unmarked.

True to Jeff Lindsay’s books
Absolutely brilliant. The visual contrast between the darkness of Dexter’s secret life and the glitz of Miami adds an almost surreal quality. The character development is spot on, slowly bringing up the background so that one can see the development of Dexter’s sociopathic personality and his confusion of human behavior in comparison to his own.
The fact that he is an expert in blood spatter
Dexter is an actor in his own life; his relationships with coworkers and his personal life are well-depicted in video media. This is a dark work, but set in the bizarre world of Miami life is almost believable. The creators of this series should also look at the books by Andrew Vachss.
